We are passionate about building a platform that inspires students to become curious about course material and encourages an academic debate between classmates. With Packback’s new Critical Debates feature, learners can now reply directly to Responses with a Counter Point or Supporting Point. This new feature makes it possible for the entire class to engage in true deep, critical discussions that better mirror a live debate.
Class is back in session and Packback is excited to continue fueling lifelong curiosity on campuses across the country! We spent the summer growing our team, expanding our curiosity footprint and updating our platform. This semester, we’re focused on continuing to grow a team of passionate thinkers and fostering curiosity among leaders in Chicago.
Every day, team members at Packback are inspired by our mission to fuel the lifelong curiosity in every student. We believe curiosity and asking questions are the building blocks for students to become successful, both in college and after graduation. In order to share our mission and the importance of curiosity, we submitted a proposal for SXSWEDU Conference and Festival! If accepted, Packback CPO Jessica Tenuta, Dr. Brandon Chicotsky of Johns Hopkins University and Dr. Jose Vazquez of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign will be partaking in a panel discussion on the importance of asking questions and scaling curiosity-based learning.
A professor at the University of Georgia performed an experiment comparing the effectiveness of Packback, Blackboard and written reaction papers.
When Dr. Matt Goren was presented with an opportunity to teach Introduction to Personal Finance at the University of Georgia, he wanted to engage his students and equip them to make smart financial decisions during and after college.
According to the Financial Health of Young America report published by Young Invincibles, young adults today are in much worse financial health than 25 years ago, earning significantly lower incomes and having a dramatically lower net worth. Knowing this, Dr. Goren emphasized a personalized learning environment where each student worked on a semester-long finance project. By the end of the semester, every student had an actionable plan to improve and sustain their financial health.
The Packback team spent the summer improving Packback Questions to ensure professors and students are getting the most from their Packback experience. This fall, Packback will be introducing several new features along with a new pricing model. The platform updates will help professors fuel purpose and curiosity for the subject matter and help students feel more connected!
